Located in west-central Mexico, Guadalajara is Mexico' second-largest city. At 1,552 meters (5,091 feet) above sea level, the capital of Jalisco state enjoys spring-like temperatures much of the year, along with abundant sunshine. High temperatures are normally in the 70s and 80s, but uncomfortably humid days are rare. In May, the warmest month, temperatures can rise into the low 90s, but it always cools off in the evening. The rainy season is June through September.
Guadalajara is an easy five-hour drive from Mexico City and deluxe bus service from the nation's capital as well as from other points around the country is available. Guadalajara is linked by air to major cities throughout Mexico and in the United States.
