Quinta Real Rolls Backs Time at Tianguis Turistico 2007

Acapulco, Gro., Mexico - (March 27, 2007) - The vitality of the Cuban spirit was in full swing last night as over 300 guests attended Quinta Real Acapulco's annual "Cuba Party" as part of Tianguis Turistico 2007. The luxurious hotel on Revolcadero Beach felt like 1950s Havana, complete with Cuban music, food and entertainment.

The hotel's majestic lobby was transformed for the party with a mild Cuban flair. Guests were greeted by a group of Cuban musicians playing tumbadoras (bongo drums), guiros (a hollow wooden instrument rubbed with a metal fork) and other Cuban instruments.

Meanwhile, the bar served endless mojitos and Cuba Libres (also known as mentirita - the little lie), along with generous servings of authentic Cuban cusine.

The non-stop entertainment also included celebrity guest, Maria Conchita Alonso, who was recently chosen as one of the "50 Most Beautiful People" in People En Español magazine. A beachside grand comparsa show with 15 performers dressed in vibrantly-colored costumes kept guests' hips swinging and shoulders shaking from 10 p.m. until 3 a.m.

Tianguis Turistico attracts travel professionals from around the world and Quinta Real has been a part of the important event for the past 20 years. "A Cuba theme party is original to Tianguis and offered an opportunity for guests to enjoy a night of passion, full of Caribbean flare," said Monica Diaz, public relations manager Quinta Real Hotels and Resorts. The intriguing invitation for the event's largest party, which was co-sponsored by Mercedes-Benz of Mexico and Quinta Real Hotels and Resorts, had an image of an 80-year-old woman savoring a Cuban cigar.
